UFC 70 Betting Odds Showing Tight Match Ups

By Paul Wednesday, April 18, 2007
Bookmaker and Bodog.com have released their betting lines on most of the fights of interest at UFC 70. The first thing I noticed is that Mirko Cro Cop's odds DROPPED to -360 at Bodog, not expected at all. Oddsmakers do all they can to divide the bets coming in evenly between the two fighters, so I have to say I'm shocked that they are seeing enough action behind Gonzaga to move the odds.

Personally I answered the call for more money behind Mirko immediately with a second bet. If you haven't placed any wagers yet this is pretty high up on my recommendation list. The return is a solid 27% now and with about a 90% chance of this return coming your way, the odds are in your favor so take them.

The next stand out in this release of odds are the number of close betting lines. Some of this is likely due to bettors not being familiar with some of these names and therefore minimal action. However, two of the big name bouts (AA vs Werdum and Silva vs Congo) also have tight betting lines....These should both be great battles.

Many of the lines have shifted since their release this afternoon. The increase in overseas bettors is really shaking this martket up. Keep your eye open for good deals and even some possible straddles.

Watch for my picks and analysis on all the fights at UFCMania.com tonight or tomorrow.
