Cain Velasquez (-120 BetUS)    Antonio Nogueira (+105 5Dimes)

Cain VelasquezFirst, the odds in this fight have flipped in the last week with Valasquez now being the slight  favorite. This often happens after the betting public sees promo video and articles about a big fight. In this case it hasn't made foreseeing an outcome any easier.

"Big Nog" has really impressed in his move to the UFC and aside from his staph affected performance, he seems to be on par with the"Nog" we all saw in Pride. He looks to be in fantastic shape and has shown that he  is very dangerous in every aspect of a fight.

Cain's dominance in the UFC has centered on his ability to control where and how a fight plays out. His wrestling, and control on the ground have lead to him finishing all but one fight via TKO.  His standup is respectable and powerful but is not as technical or accurate as Nog's. His wrestling will surely dictate his position on the ground, but Nog has finished many a top heavyweights from the bottom. The key for Cain is to control the fight and finish it, a full three rounds on the ground would be way too much opportunity for Nog to lock in a sub.

This is a very tough fight to call and there's value on a bet for either guy. Personally I've seen a real surge lately in strong wrestlers being able to control fights and having enough submissions defense to stay out of trouble. I don't think Nog will quit or get KO'd, but I do think the ref will stop it for him.
