Fight Night 59 Update: Donald Cerrone Steps in to Fight Benson Henderson

By Paul Wednesday, January 07, 2015
Donald Cerrone is stepping in to replace Eddie Alverez at UFN 59 on January 18. Alverz withdrew due to having the flu...Apparently it has kept him from working out and he lost a significant amount of weight. Too bad, I was looking forward to that fight. Cerrone is a fine replacement though.

Third time is the charm? Cowboy and Bendo have locked horns twice before in 2009 and 2010 while in the WEC. Henderson won both of those outings, but four years ago is a long time and a lot has changed for both fighters.

This will be Cerrone's sixth fight in a year and his second in three weeks! The oddsmakers favor Benson slightly (-140). I will put together a fight pick analysis next week, but I think this could be a fun one. I'm sure Dana has a special place in his heart for guys like cowboy who are willing to fight at the drop of a hat.
